Pimlico Painters & Decorators
Flat & whole-house interiors
Make a tall reception room feel settled, bring quieter colour to a bedroom, or give a whole home a coherent finish. Our interior decorating service brings walls, ceilings and painted joinery into one carefully resolved scheme.
Discuss your project
Give the ceiling its proper place
In a high-ceilinged flat, the ceiling and cornice occupy a large part of the view. Decide whether their colour should continue into the walls or define a clear upper edge. Include ceiling roses, chimney breasts and the inside of tall window reveals in the room description. This makes the intended balance visible before preparation begins.
Look closely at the existing plaster
A fresh colour needs a sound background. Show areas of flaking paint, previous patching, cracks and water marks during the assessment, including those hidden behind curtains or furniture. Any unresolved cause of damage needs its own attention. Agree the extent of preparation and repair, with a separate decision for delicate mouldings or finishes that may need specialist advice.
Plan around living in the flat
Tell us which room can become the temporary furniture store and which must be available each evening. Consider beds, home-working space and the route between kitchen and bathroom when setting the sequence. The practical brief should also cover removing curtains, protecting floors and returning furniture, alongside the product instructions for ventilation and use after decoration.
Carry the scheme through a whole house
For a house-wide commission, consider the view from the entrance up the staircase and through each landing. A repeated joinery finish can connect rooms whose wall colours differ. Give utility spaces, cupboards and secondary stairs a deliberate place in the schedule so they receive an agreed treatment, rather than becoming unresolved details at the end.
Keep the shared entrance in the conversation
For an upper-floor flat, explain the journey from the street to the front door and supply the building’s contractor instructions. Lift protection, stair access, deliveries and waste removal all need somewhere in the working arrangements. If the enquiry also includes the flat entrance door or external window faces, identify who can approve those elements before adding them to the commission.
